Network Engineer
This International Distributor truly believes in its employees. They are seeking a Network Engineer. Your primary focus is the LAN/WAN environments and Firewall security (Cisco ASA) within the environment. You will also handle the day-to-day administration of the data and voice equipment and ensure that the LAN/WAN is running at optimum performance and is secure from external threats. You will also get to help design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze and maintain the network.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, implement, support & maintain all LAN/WAN equipment (Routers, Switches, hubs, wireless access points, load balancers, etc.
- Works with data and voice service providers to report outages, failover issues and other important connectivity issues
- Establishing and supporting VPN connections
- Establishing and supporting Firewall and DMZ environments
- Support and maintain a secure level of external access to company data or email
- Integration of network and server environments for future acquisitions
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
- Backfill desktop support when needed and/or assist with 2nd tier desktop support
- Ability to work on a project basis and complete required tasks with minimal supervision
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
To be successful, you should possess most of the following:
- 4
years of hands-on experience implementing and administrating Cisco network devices, setting and maintaining policies and rights/security - Proven experience and success with Cisco LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation
- Extensive knowledge of Networking:
Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS - Support experience with products such as Wireshark, HP Openview, CiscoWorks, SolarWinds (MPM, MCM, NetFlow)
- Active CCNA (or higher) certification
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA (Sourcefire) Series and Palo Alto Firewall Appliances
