The Professional Development Specialists have complete and accurate information about available career service resources and the state's required hours and topics allowed for professional development, and they educate students on requirements for placement.
The Professional Development Specialists conduct classes, facilitate events, and implement systems as outlined in the three areas of
Essential Functions:
soft skill development, career services, and financial literacy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS--SOFT SKILLS - Facilitates classes that focus on having a positive outlook, communication and listening skills, empathy,.
Each chapter or class is approximately two hours.
-Facilitates classes that focus on having a positive outlook, communication and listening skills, empathy, mindfulness, social and emotional IQ, kindness, teamwork, love, and more.
-Facilitates classes on how to write a r sum , prepare for a job interview, develop personal branding and marketing through social media, build client relationships, find industry mentors, cultivate best practices for learning, seek out continuing education, and more.
- Schedules and maintains a calendar with the Education Leader to teach professional development classes using.
- Understands and teaches the professional development topics required by the state and meets or beats the state board minimum required number of hours for teaching professional development classes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS--CAREER SERVICES -Provides career planning and marketing strategies to assist students with the career development process, including obtaining information on companies, opportunities for employment and hiring practices, and making the transition from school to career.
-Initiates contact with potential employers to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students and alumni through counseling, online assistance, and workshops.
